Prop Firm Trading Journal for MetaTrader
Track daily drawdown headroom and your challenge equity curve, with the Equity Guard backstop armed on your funded account.
What It Does
ChartWise logs every closed trade straight from your MT4 or MT5 terminal: daily P&L, your equity curve, and headroom against the daily-loss floor you configured. A session target in R multiples, dollars, percent or pips marks where the day locks in, and trailing stop management keeps running on open positions.
The prop-firm tag on your account (FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips and similar) is broker detection, shown next to your account label for reference. It is display-only. Actual account protection comes from the tools that ship: the session target and loss floor, and Equity Guard, which closes all open positions when equity crosses your floor.
How It Works in ChartWise
- Every closed trade syncs from the terminal into the journal with balance, floating P&L and equity against day-open equity.
- The daily-loss floor and session target show your remaining loss budget and lock the day at the boundaries you set.
- Equity Guard runs as the backstop: when equity crosses your floor, it closes all open positions and deletes pending orders.
Settings & Configuration Options
| Prop Firm Rule | Challenge Benchmark | How ChartWise Protects You |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Loss Limit | Max 5% single day loss | Session target loss floor, plus the Equity Guard daily-drawdown engine (percent or dollar limit from day-start equity, with close-on-breach). |
| Max Trailing Drawdown | Max 8-10% from peak | The journal reports your equity curve and drawdown so the number stays visible; the guard itself defends the equity floor you set. |
When to Use It
- Phase 1 & Phase 2 Evaluations: Defending drawdown limits while hitting profit targets.
- Funded Account Management: Keeping accounts safe for payouts.
"Passing a prop firm challenge requires skill. Keeping a funded account requires disciplined drawdown management."
